The Afterlife of a Father

The Afterlife of a Father

Posted by on June 13th, 2021

I have been in a writing hiatus for the last 3 years, yet I never forgot about the profound experience of seeing my father as his true soul self after he passed away. I knew one day I would write about it. The afterlife is so much more than we can perceive within our physical bodies unless we learn to open our hearts and minds to seeing beyond this physical reality.

The “Me Too” * movement is stirring up my inner frustrations and the anger I am feeling about the never-ending inequality and imbalance between men and women. Power is knowing who you are, and what you represent. Who are you truly? At the soul level you are the embodiment of Christ Consciousness.

Being a natural healer is inherent in the very core of my essence. Even as a toddler, my mother noticed I would drop my teddy bear on the floor, and I would gently lift him into my arms offering a huge supply of hugs, kisses and comfort. That commitment to healing and the service to others grew into a significant pattern throughout my childhood and into adulthood.

The Afterlife of a Father

The Afterlife of a Father The last 3 years have been quite tumultuous. Five family members passed away all within a few months of each other. I was all involved in their funerals, disposing of their belongings and houses and finalizing their affairs. Since then, I have been unable to write as if in the grips of writer’s block. Every day was a whirlwind with no time to think or contemplate what I was dealing with or how I was handling it. With all that behind me, I am attempting to write again. During that time period, the one thing that...

The Sacred Way of the God/Goddess

The Sacred Way of the God/Goddess The “Me Too” * movement is stirring up my inner frustrations and the anger I am feeling about the never-ending inequality and imbalance between men and women. I spent my early business career in the late 70’s and 80’s as a pioneer in the corporate world. (I was the only woman in the sales office.) Unlike my parent’s generation, I believed men and women should be equals, and the pendulum would finally swing to a place of balance sharing the same consciousness of mutual respect. I knew it was possible as I had...

An Empowered Vision Birthing a New Day

An Empowered Vision Birthing a New Day by Daniel B. Holeman, www.AwakenVisions.com. Permission granted to use image. This image portrays the glorious rainbow of colors surrounding our earth as we manifest positive thoughts of change for the good of all. On January 1, 2012 while deep in the process of writing and editing my book on the great awakening section, I meditated on a potential future outcome, and what the people of the world could collectively manifest. Below is the vision that gracefully flowed from my imagination. In my book, I...

2016 Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice Sun Watchers On June 19, 2016 my husband and I visited the V Bar V Ranch, a Coconino national forest heritage site, in Rimrock Arizona. We hiked about ¾ of a mile to the archaeological site, (yikes, it was 106 degrees), in time for an incredible viewing of the solar calendar showing the light and dark shadow interactions marking the summer solstice. The vertical rock wall is filled with over 1,000 petroglyph images (carvings and drawings on the stone) that represent many of the clan symbols and figures drawn by the Sinugua...

A Feather Totem

A Feather Totem In a meditation, I asked my spirit guides what would be the appropriate pictorial image for the cover of my book. One day, while doing mundane household chores, the image of a feather popped into my mind. What a perfect representation for my book, I thought, and I love it when spirit answers my questions! The purpose of my book is to remind you of your own enlightenment and empowerment. It is as if I give you a spiritual feather in the form of my book, to assist you as you journey close to your heart and god-self, searching...

Author Networking and Book Gifting

Author Networking and Book Gifting On Wednesday, October 28, 2015, I met Maia Kincaid and presented her with a complimentary copy of my Book. She is also an author of 5 books (plus one pending), and it was a delightful breakfast meeting sharing our thoughts and ideas for writing and marketing our books. Maia and I met several years ago when she came to see me for a massage therapy session. We became friends, and she shared her nature stories with me, as well as learning about her techniques through her books. I also had a channeled reading...

Authors’ Forum in Cottonwood

Authors’ Forum in Cottonwood On Saturday, September 26, 2015 I participated in the Author’s Forum at the Cottonwood Recreation Center along with 35 other local authors. I greatly appreciated the Cottonwood Library for bringing together and supporting our craft as we sold and signed our books for the local community. We have all been invited back to participate again next year which will be held during the holidays. It was a wonderful experience talking with the attendees and their reactions to my book. One woman said she liked the way...
