The Sacred Way of the God/Goddess

The Sacred Way of the God/Goddess

The “Me Too” * movement is stirring up my inner frustrations and the anger I am feeling about the never-ending inequality and imbalance between men and women. I spent my early business career in the late 70’s and 80’s as a pioneer in the corporate world. (I was the only woman in the sales office.) Unlike my parent’s generation, I believed men and women should be equals, and the pendulum would finally swing to a place of balance sharing the same consciousness of mutual respect. I knew it was possible as I had an equal relationship with my husband. However, the imbalance I felt in the workplace was stuffed down as I continued to confidently work hard and click my heels across the corporate halls. Like many women, I ignored the injustice not realizing I was burying my rage and burning myself out. I applaud the women coming forward now saying “enough; ” and some men are now beginning to experience the consequences for their abuse of power and actions. I acknowledge my feelings of frustration and anger, but when I stepped back and reminded myself of the bigger picture, the following transcending perspective revealed itself to me from deep within. I realized healing takes place when men and women can shift our negative thoughts to positive demonstrations of love, forgiveness, understanding and empathy.

Power is knowing who we are, and what we represent. Who are we truly? At the soul level we are the embodiment of Christ Consciousness. Yet, for a moment in time, we collectively chose to experience the classroom called earth to take on the illusion of the physical body. We chose to go through the birth cycle and become either a male (god) or a female (goddess). The masculine (Yang) represents the active phase of the mind; feminine (Yin) represents the passive phase of the heart, yet people embody the duality of both with one expressed as more dominant.

As the cosmos shifts and evolves through its many dimensions and levels of understanding, in recent times, (for the last 2,000 years) the Earth has been experiencing the patriarchal or masculine cycle. Currently, we are moving forward into the matriarchal cycle and it feels quite uncomfortable for a segment of the male population. They sense the loss of their power and are reluctant to give up being at the top of a perceived hierarchy. I sense that many men are afraid and tend to be separated from their hearts. They have forgotten (or are ignoring) their inherent feminine power. This is quite evident as we watch our society play out its daily dramas. As the cosmos shifts into the matriarchal cycle, women are now stepping into their power and discovering their assertive voice. Historically, women have been smothered by the yang energy denying their own truth for too long. This shift is not about women seeking retaliation, even if understandable feelings of rage come to the surface today because of all the injustices and abuse.

Women do not want power over men even though most men have chosen to hold their power over women for centuries. It is an experiment to see if men and women can manage their innate god and goddess power in a sacred, and holistic way and release the illusion of control. Men are now learning the consequences of their miscreations. Both men and women have learned from this karmic experiment of the wounded heart. Generally speaking, men learned how to abuse their power; women grasped what it felt like to be abused and powerless.

A magnificent transformational shift is upon us. Instead of creating more karmic imbalance by women abusing men, we are transmuting into a life cycle of regeneration and harmony between the masculine and the feminine. True equality and mastery will be a slow process as men learn to release the fear of losing control and power, and for women to unleash their innate authority and potent voice. Squashing women’s inherent power is no longer possible. The fire of the goddess has been unleashed. The last prominent time the planet earth experienced this male/female balance was during the Minoan culture of ancient Crete (2,600 to 1,100 BC). That culture was expressed as a matriarchal society of the goddess, yet they practiced harmonic relationships between men, women and the Earth, as depicted in their artwork such as the symbol of the bullhorns or the well-known bull leaping fresco.

Men! Allow the merging of your masculine mind to flow with your innate feminine heart. Women! Boldly walk through your fear of holding your voice back. Speak up and “lean in” to express your authentic heart and mind. Hold men accountable to truth. It is time for more women to become leaders. Embrace this moment in time.

The transcending shift unfolding is leading us culturally forward to a sacred place of balance. Observe the empowered goddess merge with the awakened god as we explore and celebrate the divine male and the sacred female differences.
Awaken, open your heart, and remember who you are and what you represent–Christ Consciousness experiencing a physical god/goddess embodiment rediscovering your true nature of love—love of self, love of one another, love of the mother earth. Love and forgiveness is our greatest strength and power. Avoid getting lost in the negative of the past, and embrace the present and future vision of harmony between the magnificent essences of gods and goddesses. It is a vision I hold close to my heart.
